LYFTA
Lyfta is a digital platform where teachers and pupils can access immersive Storyworlds and curriculum-based lesson and assembly plans. Lyfta's theme-based learning experiences are ideal for teaching PSHE, Global Citizenship, Geography, Art and DT, RE, Music and for making meaningful connections across the whole Primary Curriculum. The Lyfta platfrom supports developing cultural capital as well as fostering values and skills such as empathy, self-direction and critical thinking.
Lyfta's storyworlds are interactive 360-degree environments that children can explore. They are real places featuring real people whom children can get to know and understand through powerful short documentary films, virtual reality experiences, rich media articles and infographics. Through these Storyworlds, children will experience different cultures, languages, jobs, roles and perspectives.
They will have seen hundreds of positive human stories modelling resilience, problem-solving, teamwork, and many other critical skills, values and competencies.
They will understand for themselves how interconnected and interdependent we are, and will have gained a deep awareness of their power and role in the world.
At Manor Farm Junior School, the key themes that weave through all wider curriculum learning and tie together the values and understanding we want to instil in our pupils are:
Sustainability
Diversity
Community and citizenship
Wellbeing
Technology
Intercultural Understanding
